Reversing the School-to-Prison Pipeline: From Incarceration to Education

Training Summary

  Presenters share strategies to engage system involved youth in culturally relevant, strength based educational programs; examine components of quality educational programming; and discuss the benefits of offering higher education in juvenile justice settings. Following the 90-minute Webinar, attendees participate in a 30-minute Q&A session with two editors of the book Disrupting the School-to-Prison Pipeline published by Harvard Educational Review. They focus on answering questions about incarcerated youth whose lives have been affected and shaped by the school-to-prison pipeline.
